In the 1986 Snap Elections the Commission on Elections declared Marcos the winner.
However, the private organization National Movement for Free Elections or NAMFREL
declared that Ninoy's widow Corazon Aquino had won the elections.
On February 25, 1986, Pres. Marcos was proclaimed in Malacanang Palace.
Only a select group of people knew about this event. The Bureau of Posts
received instructions to prepare "RUSH" a Marcos 1986 Inaugural Issue.

Design essays intended for the 1986 Marcos inaugural issue prepared by
Antonio Chiudan, Chief Artist of the Bureau of Posts.
Mr. Chiudan showed the  two essays to his closest friends but never got to
submit them for approval due to the People Power Uprising.
When the Commission on Elections declared Marcos the winner his
Chief of Staff Gen. Fidel Ramos and Defense Minister Juan Ponce-Enrile
withdrew their support for Pres. Marcos by staging a coup d' etat
and simultaneously declaring Corazon Aquino as the winner of the snap elections.
In the ensuing power struggle, the entire country went to the streets
to show their support to the coup leaders.
